🚨 The Rising Threat of Phone Scams!

🔍 What is Vishing?
Vishing (voice phishing) is a social engineering technique where cybercriminals impersonate tech support agents, bank representatives, or IT staff to steal sensitive information. Their strategy?
Creating urgency and psychological pressure to make victims act without thinking.

⚠️ Attacks Are Skyrocketing: +442% in Six Months!
According to a
CrowdStrike report, vishing attacks increased by 442% in the second half of 2024. Cybercriminals are using tools like Microsoft Quick Assist and Microsoft Teams to make their calls look legitimate and deceive their targets.

🎭 Who Are the Targets?
🔹 Individuals: “Your account is at risk!” 🚨
🔹 Businesses: “We need to fix an urgent issue on your system” 👨‍💻
Hackers often conduct background research on organizations to
add credibility to their scam and gain victims’ trust.

📩 Callback Phishing: A Sneaky Alternative
If the target doesn’t pick up the phone, they receive a
fraudulent email urging them to call a fake support number. Once they call, scammers pressure them into revealing personal data or installing malicious software.

🔒 How to Protect Yourself?
Never share sensitive information over the phone.
Verify the identity of the caller before taking any action.
Don't fall for urgency tactics—take your time to think.
Train employees to recognize social engineering attacks.

No legitimate organization will ever ask for passwords or banking details over the phone. Stay vigilant!
